Privacy Policy

What we collect

Account data: When you sign in with Google, we receive your Google user ID, display name, email address, and profile photo URL. These are stored locally in your browser and your Google user ID is stored on our servers to track usage and manage your subscription.

Usage data: Each time you request an AI explanation, we log your Google user ID, the YouTube video ID, and a timestamp. This is used solely for rate limiting and usage statistics shown to you in the extension.

Subscription data: If you subscribe, we store your Google user ID, Stripe customer ID, Stripe subscription ID, subscription status, and current period end date.

What we do NOT collect

• Transcript content
• Your YouTube watch history beyond video IDs tied to explanation requests
• Any data from YouTube pages other than the video currently open

How we use your data

• To provide the AI explanation feature
• To enforce the free tier limit and hourly rate limit
• To manage your subscription status

Third-party services

• Google — for authentication (Sign in with Google)
• Stripe — for payment processing. See Stripe's privacy policy
• Anthropic — your selected text and a window of transcript context are sent to Anthropic's API to generate explanations. No personally identifiable information is included. See Anthropic's privacy policy
• Cloudflare — our backend runs on Cloudflare Workers. See Cloudflare's privacy policy

Data retention

Usage logs are retained indefinitely for aggregate statistics. You may request deletion by contacting us.
